Family Appointments Available Beginning Monday, March 1st

The Macedon Public Library Board of Trustees is pleased to announce a change in the service model currently in operation at the library.  In addition to offering Grab ‘n Go services to those who either do not want to enter public spaces due to the risk of contracting COVID-19 or who are unable to wear a mask for any reason, the library will now also schedule fifteen minute family appointments for browsing Monday through Thursday from 10 am until 6 pm.

A family appointment is for members of a family who all live under the same roof.  The appointment permits family members from the same home to come to the library to browse for materials and to check out these materials in-person.

If a family comes for an in-person visit, any returned items are to be placed in the drop box outside of the library.

The library is able to supply any person in need of an appropriate mask with one if a request is made in advance.  Staff will bring the mask requested to the vehicle at the scheduled appointment time.

Children age two and older will be required to wear a mask if visiting the library in-person with their family members.  This is as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Upon entering the library, all family members will also be asked to use hand sanitizer on their hands before browsing.  Any family member unable to use hand sanitizer will be asked to wash their hands in the bathroom before browsing.

At this time, appointments are only available for browsing the materials within the collection for borrowing.  Computer needs will be met by offering laptops for use in patron vehicles.  Meetings and small gatherings are not permitted at this time.  Library programming will remain virtual.

To make an appointment to visit the library for in-person browsing, please call 315-986-5932.  The library staff look very forward to serving patrons in-person again!
