ROC the Day and Save Our Services

Tuesday, November 28 is “Giving Tuesday.” As a 501 c 3 organization, Macedon Public Library has signed up to receive free-will donations through the United Way of Greater Rochester’s “ROC the Day” campaign. This year, while we appreciate the funding the Town of Macedon has allocated to us, the library received less in budgetary funding than was needed. The underfunding has been accumulating for years, and combined with minimum wage increases, the library is now forced to cut our hours and the purchase of materials down. Dear Library Community, As we near Veteran’s Day, it is important to consider the sacrifices those have made throughout the history of this great nation. These sacrifices were not made lightly.  They were made by men and women of sound mind and body who believed in the utmost sanctity of our way of life as written in our Constitution. Library to Offer Laser Cutting & Engraving

I am very pleased to officially announce that Macedon Public Library has been awarded funding to purchase a Glowforge 3D Laser Printer thanks to a Pioneer Library System 2017 Leading Edge Technology Grant. The Glowforge is a leading edge technology tool. This printer democratizes laser cutting technology and gives community members the ability to cut and engrave a variety of materials.  This printer will provide a means to produce such items as: prototypes for inventions, original craft designs, customized engravings, and custom designed teaching aids. Opportunity to Write Two Holiday-Themed Songs

Sign-up to participate in creating two holiday-themed songs that will be recorded and publicly performed at the library.
