New Books: Tuesday, November 10

The library is open for limited patron access. We are allowing seven patrons at a time in the library. There is hand sanitizer on the table by the circulation desk; we ask you to use it when you come in. It is once again possible to place holds on items from other libraries, although there are only limited runs being made between the libraries, so it may take longer than formerly for your items to arrive. Thank you for your help as we work to make the library a safe place for all!

Here are a few more of the new books we’ve received lately:

Smart, sophisticated, yet surprisingly tender, Cobble Hill is highly entertaining portrait of contemporary family life and the colorful characters who call Brooklyn home.

A Picture of Love

Sweet Naomi Byler cooks meals for the guests at The Peony Inn, where Amish sisters and owners of the inn Esther and Lizzie love her like a granddaughter. She’s as happy there as a young woman can be, considering that her fiancé, Thomas, has left her to court someone else. She knows she’ll get over the love of her life in due time, but she assumes marriage will never be a part of her future. Amos Lantz and his mother are guests at the inn, visiting town for a cousin’s wedding. Attending a wedding is the last thing Amos wants to do since his own fiancée, Sarah, died tragically just a year ago. Naomi and Amos understand each other’s grief and become quick friends when they discover their mutual love of painting. Crazy Stupid Bromance

Alexis Carlisle and her cat café, ToeBeans, have shot to fame after she came forward as a victim of a celebrity chef’s sexual harassment. Noah’s pals in the Bromance Book Club are more than willing to share their beloved “manuals” to help him go from bud to boyfriend.
