In an effort to preserve medical-grade, personal protective equipment (PPE) during the current COVID-19 pandemic, the Johns Hopkins Medicine Unified Command Center has coordinated a volunteer project for the Americans to sew and donate homemade cloth masks. This masks can be used in situations for which a medical-grade PPE mask is not required. For example, a homemade mask can be given to a patient that comes to the hospital presenting with respiratory symptoms. All masks will be laundered prior to distribution.

Please use 100% cotton fabric with a pattern design (not a solid or blue and white color). Masks that do not meet this requirement may not be able to be accepted.
