COMING IN JANUARY!
Saturday, January 4
10:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Instructor John Sargent will lead the Point & Insurance Reduction Program (PIRP), approved by the Department of Motor Vehicles. This class has met strict standards for the safe driving information presented and the effectiveness of the program.
Those who participate will:
- Refresh their driving knowledge with a review of time-tested safe driving tips and an overview of today’s vehicle and traffic laws.
- Possibly be eligible to reduce as many as four points on their driving record. The DMV computer will automatically note a participant’s eligibility to receive the reduction.
- Receive a minimum 10 percent reduction in the base rate of your automobile and motorcycle liability and collision insurance premiums each year for three years.
The course takes six hours to complete. There is a $25 fee to take the course payable the day of the course. Lunch will not be provided, but there will be a thirty minute break for people to either eat a bag lunch they have brought or to leave to eat elsewhere.
This course may be repeated every 36 months (three years) to maintain insurance reduction benefits. This course is not the course candidates must take to be eligible to take the NYS licensing examination. It’s aimed at adults who already possess a NYS license and are interested in becoming safer drivers with a lowered insurance rate.
This class will be canceled if fewer than 8 people register. A maximum of 35 participants will be permitted to attend the class. Register by stopping in at the library or giving us a call at 315-986-5932.
