March of wooden soldiers posterIf you remember this 1934 movie from your childhood, you know it is one of the most delightfully silly and enjoyable movies ever made. Based on classic fairy tales, it tells the story of Ollie Dee and Stanley Dum (the great Oliver Hardy and Stan Laurel), who try to borrow money from their employer, the toymaker, to pay off the mortgage on Mother Peep’s shoe and keep it and Little Bo Peep from the evil clutches of Barnaby Barnicle. The scene where the toy soldiers come to the rescue is one of the most iconic scenes in all of movieland.

Join us to watch this wonderful film—we’ll supply the popcorn—and you’ll consider it an afternoon well spent, as you return once again to the joys of childhood with Laurel and Hardy. Please call us at 315-986-5932 or stop by the library to let us know you’ll be coming.
