The Great Gatsby: Tea & Discussion

  • Friday, April 12
  • 1:00 p.m.

Great Gatsby2The Great Gatsby is truly one of the most classic of American novels, one that many of us read in high school or college. At this event, we’ll re-create the world of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s Jay Gatsby with  afternoon tea and scones, following our watching of the 2013 film directed by Baz Luhrmann and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, and Joel Edgerton. Set on Long Island of the early 1920s, the book and film tell a story of obsession, madness, and tragedy, centered around the enigmatic Gatsby, who is not what he seems to be at first. Winner of two Oscar awards, the film is beautiful to watch, with gorgeous period costumes and all the ostentatious wealth of the New York jet set on display.

There’s no cost to attend this event, but do call us to let us know you’re coming at 315-986-5932.
