We are looking for people to teach their skills to be part of a “Macedon Human Library Collection.”
Let us know what skill or skills you would like to teach and give us your contact information. For example, maybe you know how to knit and would love to help someone else learn how to knit, too. Or maybe you are able to do calligraphy and would be willing to share the basics on learning how to do this with someone else. This is a great opportunity to give back to your community.
The skill you would like to teach must be a skill that can be taught within the confines of a library. For example, that means it cannot be a skill that requires the use of heavy machinery or foul smelling chemicals. Also, people who agree to share their skills do so as volunteers.
As time goes by, we’ll let you know if someone lets us know they want to learn the skill you are willing to share. We’ll help you to connect with the person at the library for a lesson.
We will not give out your contact information. We will contact you to let you know once someone shows an interest in meeting with you at the library. We will let you know of three possible dates for a mentoring session at the library and help you to connect with the person at the library. Upon your request, we will let the person you have agreed to teach know if they will need to bring particular materials to the session.
