Here’s another entry to our occasional “Meet the Staff” series, where we introduce you to the staffers who do the work to make the Macedon Public Library the best it can be. Arianna Rex is a familiar face to many since she can often be found at the circulation desk helping patrons check out books. Here are a few of her answers to our questions:
- Q: How long have you worked at the library?
- A: I have worked at the Library for two and a half years now, and I hope to continue to work at the Macedon Public library for many more years.
Q: Where are you from originally? - A: I am from Macedon.
Q: What is your educational background? - A: I just graduated in 2022 from Pal-Mac.
Q: What is your favorite thing about working in the library? - A: My favorite thing about working in a library is meeting all of the friendly faces that come into the library.
Q: Can you tell us your favorite books? - A: My favorite book is Kiki’s Delivery Service by Eiko Kadono; it is about a young girl who is a witch trying to find her way in the world, and it has a pretty cute movie adaptation.
- Do you have any pets?
- I have seven pets, five cats and two dogs. They all have so much personality that makes me love them even more.
- Tell us about your family.
- I have four people in my family: my little sibling in middle school who loves music, my dad who works in maintenance, and my mom who works for the ARC.
Q: Why are libraries important for our community? - A: I think that libraries are important because they help give people access to materials with little to no charge, from printing copies to reading the latest magazine.
Q: What else would you like people to know about you? - A: I love art, geology, and astronomy.
