Masks are strongly encouraged for all patrons, even if you have been vaccinated. We will continue to offer “Grab and Go” services for those who prefer to place their books on hold online and then pick them up in the cabinet outside the library.

Here are a few of the new books that have come in to the library recently. We invite you to check them out!

Dark Music

A soccer referee is found dead after a youth match in a Stockholm suburb. The father of one of the players, who had threatened the ref, is quickly arrested, but he protests his innocence. The police decide to consult Professor Hans Rekke, a world-renowned authority on interrogation and prisoner confessions. Things do not proceed as planned as Rekke challenges the team’s assumptions and demolishes their case. The suspect is released, and the police find themselves out of leads. Only Micaela Vargas, a young officer from an immigrant family and with brothers who make a living on the other side of the law, refuses to let the matter rest, unable to forget the ref’s strange behaviour in his last game.

Overkill

Rebecca has been placed on life support after a violent assault, and he has medical power-of-attorney. Zach is asked to make an impossible choice: keep her on life support or take her off of it. Four years later, Rebecca’s attacker, Eban gets an early release from prison. It isn’t lost on Zach that in order for Eban to be charged with Rebecca’s murder, Zach must actually be the one to kill her. Eban, having realized the jeopardy he’s in, plots to make certain that neither Zach nor Kate, Rebecca’s lawyer, lives to see the death of Rebecca—and the end of his freedom.
