In case you missed this week’s story times, these are the fun books we shared for school-aged kids in grades K-5. Our theme was “Sharks.”
Children in Grades K-2:
Big Shark, Little Shark, and the Missing Teeth
While Big Shark loses another tooth, Little Shark is dolefully waiting to lose his first.
Hungry, Hungry Sharks!
A simple discussion of the kinds of sharks and their behaviour.
Slickety Quick: Poems about Sharks
From the enormous whale shark to the legendary great white to the enigmatic goblin shark to the small cookie-cutter shark, Slickety Quick is a delightful frenzy of shark mayhem.
Dude!
A platypus and a beaver who love surfing encounter a shark—with unexpected results.
Children in Grades 2-5:
Sharks: What Do Great Whites, Hammerheads, and Whale Sharks Get Up To All Day
A beautifully illustrated nonfiction story following great whites, hammerheads, whale sharks, and more over the course of one day
We also had an activity of making shark face bookmarks. We have these available as “take and make” kits starting Thursday morning while available.
