The Macedon Public Library is fully open for in-person visits. Computers are available and the Discovery Room is also open. Masks are strongly encouraged for all patrons, even if you have been vaccinated. We will continue to offer “Grab and Go” services for those who prefer to place their books on hold online and then pick them up in the cabinet outside the library.
Here are a few of the new books for children that have come in to the library recently. We invite you to check them out!
A Unicorn Named Sparkle and the Pumpkin Monster
The fourth book in the A Unicorn Named Sparkle series features pumpkins, silly adventures, and of course, a sparkly friendship ― perfect for Autumn! Lucy and our favorite unicorn are back in Sparkle the Unicorn and the Pumpkin Monster. Lucy and Sparkle love Halloween, especially at Frank’s Pumpkin Farm. They get to run through corn mazes, play games, decorate pumpkins, and most importantly: eat a lot of cider donuts. But Lucy and Sparkle discover one big difference between them ― Lucy loves to be scared every once in awhile. Sparkle? Not so much. When Lucy takes the scary part of Halloween one step too far for Sparkle, she must comfort her frightened unicorn pal ― and win back his trust.
Five Little Monkeys Looking for Santa
In this cozy picture book set on Christmas Eve, the Five Little Monkeys are sure that every little noise they hear is Santa—and of course they have to jump out of bed each time to investigate! Will they ever go to sleep? “He won’t visit while you’re still awake, so go back to bed, for goodness’ sake!” It’s Christmas Eve, and the Five Little Monkeys are so excited, they can’t sleep. Not even Mama’s and Grandpa’s warnings can keep them from jumping out of bed again and again to look for Santa! Will those silly little monkeys find a way to get a glimpse of him and his sleigh before the night is over?
Pinkalicious is searching for stones for her rock collection when suddenly – poof! – out pops a surprise! Rocky is here to grant Pinkalicious and her brother, Peter, one wish and one wish only, so they must choose wisely. Should they wish for a pile of sweets? Or the ability to fly? Or maybe a castle with a fire-breathing dragon? But are any of those things good enough to be their very best, most special wish in the whole wide world? And what will happen to Rocky after they make their wish? This gem of a book looks at how being selfless can be its own best reward. Rubylicious is a sparkling addition to the Pinkalicious library!
