In Her Tracks (Large print edition)
Detective Tracy Crosswhite finds herself reassigned to the Seattle PD’s cold case unit. As the protective mother of an infant daughter, Tracy is drawn to her first file: the abduction of a five-year-old girl whose parents, embattled in a poisonous divorce, were once prime suspects. While reconstructing the days leading up to the girl’s disappearance, Tracy is brought into an active investigation with former partner Kinsington Rowe. A young woman has vanished on an isolated jogging trail in North Seattle. Divided between two critical cases, Tracy has little to go on except the treacherous deceptions behind a broken marriage — and the secrets hiding behind the closed doors of a deceptively quiet middle-class neighborhood. Given her own traumatic past, Tracy must follow her instincts — to whatever dark and dangerous places they may lead.
The Children’s Blizzard (Large print edition)
The morning of January 12, 1888, was unusually mild. It was warm enough for the homesteaders of the Dakota Territory to venture out again, and for their children to return to school without their heavy coats. At the hour when most prairie schools were letting out for the day, a terrifying, fast-moving blizzard blew in without warning. Schoolteachers as young as sixteen were suddenly faced with life and death decisions: Keep the children inside, to risk freezing to death when fuel ran out, or send them home, praying they wouldn’t get lost in the storm? This gripping novel follows the stories of Raina and Gerda Olsen, two sisters, both schoolteachers — one becomes a hero of the storm and the other finds herself ostracized in the aftermath.
Family Reunion (Large print edition)
Fresh off the heels of her college graduation, Eleanor’s dear granddaughter, Ari, has just ended an engagement that felt less like true love and more like a chore. She longs for a change of scenery and to venture far from her parents’ snobbish expectations. Taking advantage of her newfound freedom, she heads to Nantucket to clear her head before graduate school, moving in with her grandmother and taking a job at the local beach camp. As she watches Eleanor begin to form a bond with an old acquaintance, Ari herself becomes completely smitten with a friend’s charming older brother. But just as grandmother and granddaughter fall into a carefree routine, a few shocking discoveries throw them off course, and their ideas of the future seem suddenly uncertain.
