The American Revolution (History Smashers Series)
Myths! Lies! Secrets! Uncover the hidden truth behind the Revolutionary War with beloved educator/author Kate Messner. The fun mix of sidebars, illustrations, photos, and graphic panels make this perfect for fans of I Survived! and Nathan Hale’s Hazardous Tales. On April 18, 1775, Paul Revere rode through Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts, shouting, “The British are coming!” to start the American Revolution. RIGHT? WRONG! Paul Revere made it to Lexington, but before he could complete his mission, he was captured! The truth is, dozens of Patriots rode around warning people about the Redcoats’ plans that night. It was actually a man named Samuel Prescott who succeeded, alerting townspeople in Lexington and then moving on to Concord. But the Revolutionary War didn’t officially start for more than a year after Prescott’s ride. Discover the nonfiction series that smashes everything you thought you knew about history.
Kyle’s Little Sister
“My name is Grace, not ‘Kyle’s little sister!’ Having a good-looking, friendly, outgoing older brother sucks — especially when you’re the total opposite, someone who likes staying home and playing video games. Your parents like him better (even if they deny it!), and everyone calls you ‘Kyle’s little sister’ while looking disappointed that you’re not more like him. I was really hoping I’d get to go to a different middle school, but no such luck. At least I have my friends…until he finds a way to ruin that, too…! Argh! What do I have to do to get out of his shadow?!” For readers aged 8-12 years old.
Constructionary Tales (Plants Vs. Zombies Series, vol. 18)

Crazy Dave has some silly schemes and convoluted contraptions of his own, though, to protect Neighborville’s citizens. With his niece Patrice, neighborhood hero Nate Timely, and his own army of powerful plants and strange inventions, Dave’s ready to counter any frightening invasion that Zomboss can think up!
