New DVDs: Tuesday, July 13

The Macedon Public Library is fully open for in-person visits. Computers are available and the Discovery Room is also open. We ask patrons who are not yet vaccinated to please wear masks, but we will not be monitoring this. We will continue to offer “Grab and Go” services for those who prefer to place their books on hold online and then pick them up in the cabinet outside the library.

The Lovebirds

A couple (Issa Rae & Kumail Nanjiani) experiences a defining moment in their relationship when they become mixed up in a murder mystery. As their journey to clear their names takes them from one extreme – and hilarious – circumstance to the next, they must figure out how they, and their relationship, can survive the night.

Siberia

In this psychological thriller directed by Abel Ferrara and starring Willem Dafoe, the keeper of a snowbound bar is pursued by sinister phantasms. Clint tends bar at a snowbound roadhouse whose patrons speak a language he doesn’t understand, and things may not be what they seem. Desperate for answers, he drives a sled team to a nearby cave, but finds no peace. Are the spirits that confront him mere figments of his imagination, or will they slowly tear his body and soul to pieces?

The Umbrella Academy

On the same day in 1989, forty-three infants are inexplicably born to random women who showed no signs of pregnancy the day before. Seven are adopted by a billionaire who creates The Umbrella Academy and prepares his “children” to save the world. Now, six surviving members reunite upon the news of their father’s passing and must work together to solve the mystery surrounding his death. But the estranged family begins to come apart due to the divergent personalities and abilities, not to mention the imminent threat of a global apocalypse. The Umbrella Academy is based on the comic book series created and written by Gerard Way, illustrated by Gabriel Bá, and published by Dark Horse Comics.
