2015 Newbury Honor Book El Deafo is a memoir of author Cece Bell’s early years, negotiating all the joys and pitfalls of school while wearing a bulky hearing aid strapped to her chest. This five-star Amazon review book will be the focus of a discussion on September 19 led by community member Madison Dusseman, who wants to talk with other kids who have read the book.
Come and share what you thought about the characters and whether or not you found the book realistic or emotional. We’ll have popcorn snacks available while you chat.
