Bridge Building for Children

Thursday, August 8

6:00 p.m.

Critical thinking, problem solving, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) skills are all vital tools that every child should learn. And they will with this program. Retired engineer Phil Klingler will guide participants in creating a model of a bridge that is structurally sound and elegant in design.

Phil worked for many years as the bridge maintenance engineer for the state Department of Transportation, where he was responsible for the maintenance, safety, and preservation of more than 850 bridges in our region. He was named Regional Engineer of the Year by the New York State Association of Transportation Engineers in 1999.
