Maybe you’ve played the computer version of this Asian game—and seen how addicting it can be. Or maybe you’ve never heard of it. Mahjong developed in China in the early 18th century, and took the world by storm soon after. It’s played with a set of 144 tiles with images based on Chinese characters and symbols—some sets can be quite beautiful.
What’s important to know is that it is easy to play, and fun to master. At the Macedon Public Library, we play every Thursday at 2 pm, and we welcome new players always. If you’ve never played before, don’t worry: we’ll have you up to speed in no time. If you’re a grand master of the game, we would love to pit our skills against yours! No matter what your skill level, please join us for a fun and engaging way to pass a summer afternoon.
