Summer Sci-Fi Movie Matinee

Wednesday, July 10

6:00 p.m.

Come watch this classic sci fi epic released in 1968, directed by Stanley Kubrick, and inspired by a short story by Arthur C. Clarke. Astronauts on a mission to Jupiter are affected by giant black monoliths throughout the universe—as well as by the actions of the omnipresent, sentient computer, HAL. The movie deals with issues of evolution, technology, artificial life, and the possibility of extraterrestrial life. You’ll find it on most lists of the ten best movies of all time, and was noted for the scientific accuracy of its depictions of space flight.

Rated G, the movie is 2 hours, 29 minutes. To register for this event, call us at 315-986-5932 or stop by to let us know you will be attending.
