This one-of-a-kind program focuses on the incredible chain of events that led to the writing of the Constitution. The ever-engaging Cris Johnson will have kids laughing, clapping, and cheering through the use of his highly creative props, magic, and comedy.
At the end of the program, children will be invited to open ten birthday gift bags to reveal the ten gifts that our Constitution gives us every day. It’s whimsical, fun, and most of all, memorable.
There’s plenty more, too. The three branches of government become integrated into a “dangerous” stunt that ensures kids will remember the concept “balance of power” and understand how important it is for each of the three branches to share power equally.
Cris uses something he calls “powerade” to help the kids learn about popular sovereignty. They will scream with excitement and adults in attendance will praise the way the comedy, stunts, and magic really combine to illustrate historical lessons kids will carry with them for a lifetime.
This program is made possible with funding from Friends of Macedon Public Library.
