In this Book Chat meeting, we’ll be discussing Neil DeGrasse Tyson’s Astrophysics for People in a Hurry. Don’t let the topic scare you away: this is an intriguing book, and not a hard read. Here’s just a taste: “In the beginning, nearly fourteen billion years ago, all the space and all the matter and all the energy of the known universe was contained in a volume less than one-trillionth the size of the period that ends this sentence.” Mind blown? Yeah, we thought so. You may not understand everything you read in this book (we didn’t!), but you’ll come away from it with an increased sense of what an amazing world we live in.
If you’ve ever looked up in the sky and wondered at the immensity of it all, this book is for you. Join us for a Book Chat session where we’ll look at Tyson’s attempt to explain the unexplainable, in a way that everyone will understand, whether we’re in a hurry or not. There’s no need to register—just join us on the 17th.
