Saturday, September 8
2:00 p.m.
Studies have shown that reading to a pet helps to build confidence and comprehension skills in children. If you don’t have a pet at home to try this out with your child (or if your pet isn’t the literary type), we have some awesome pups available this Saturday for your children to share a book with. These dogs are well-trained service animals who are gaining experience at working with the public. Like many of us, they enjoy a good book or two every now and then, and love to lay quietly next to your child while he or she reads out loud.
There’s no need to make an appointment or pre-register—just show up at 2:00 p.m., have your child pick out a fun children’s book, and look for one of the canines that will be scattered throughout the library. Then get a cup of coffee or hot chocolate from our Keurig and relax while your child bonds with a furry new pal!
