2:00-3:00 p.m.
Who doesn’t love furry, well-behaved pups? At MPL, we welcome the dogs in once a month for reading sessions with our children. This is truly a win-win situation. The dogs are all trained or in training to become service dogs, and the experience of being in a public place with lots of people helps them to become more acclimated to a variety of environments. And for the children? They love having the chance to read a story book to a furry friend. For those lacking in confidence or who struggle with reading, especially, it’s a perfect confidence-builder, as they share the story with a non-judgmental listener.
There’s no need to register, and there’s no fee. Just bring your young ones to the library on Saturday at 2, and you’ll find the dogs waiting for you. Have your child pick out a book from our extensive collection, and you’re ready to go.
