| Open a World of Possibilities: Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Comes to Pal-Mac…with a Little Help from YOU |
| Imagine the joy on a child’s face when they open their mailbox and discover a brand-new book waiting just for them. Thanks to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, that joy can now be a reality for children living within the 14502 and 14522 zip codes! The Imagination Library is a FREE book-gifting program that mails high-quality, age-appropriate books each month to children from birth through age five. By the time they enter kindergarten, enrolled children will have built their very own home library of up to 60 books—a foundation that encourages early literacy, sparks imagination, and fosters a lifelong love of reading. Why this matters for our community:Early literacy = lifelong success: Children who are read to regularly develop stronger language, vocabulary, and comprehension skills. Access for all families: No matter a family’s income or background, every child under five in the 14502 and 14522 zip code areas can register and receive books at no cost. School readiness: With more stories, words, and ideas in their toolkit, children are better prepared for preschool and kindergarten. Community impact: A community that reads together grows together. Investing in our youngest residents strengthens our future workforce, leaders, and neighbors. To be able to launch this literacy program, the Macedon Public Library has applied for and been granted $5,000 from NYS to implement Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. To receive these grant funds, we must raise matching funds from local community members, businesses and organizations. Our goal is to launch this literacy program this fall. We are asking people, businesses and organizations to make donations by September 15th to make this program a reality. No donation is too big or small. Each will make an important impact at ensuring Pal-Mac kids are off to a great start from day one! Please help us to give children the gift of reading today.
