The World’s Greatest Detective and Her Just Okay Assistant

Olivia Blunt doesn’t want to be an assistant detective for the rest of her life. She’s determined to learn everything she can from her mentor, renowned investigator Aubrey Merritt. Finally, a case comes across Olivia’s desk that just might be worthy of Merritt’s skills. On the evening of her sixty-fifth birthday party, Victoria Summersworth somehow fell to her death over her balcony railing on the rocky shore of Lake Champlain. The police have ruled it a suicide, but her daughter, Haley, thinks it was murder. Merritt is ever the skeptic, but Olivia believes Haley. She realizes she might be in over her head with this whole detective thing . . . or she might be unravelling a mystery even bigger than the one she started with.

Maggie; Or, A Man and a Woman Walk Into a Bar

A man and a woman walk into a restaurant. The woman expects a night filled with endless plates of samosas. Instead, she finds out her husband is having an affair with a woman named Maggie. A short while after, her chest starts to ache. She walks into an examination room, where she finds out the pain isn’t heartbreak — it’s cancer. She decides to call the tumor Maggie. We follow the narrator as she embarks on a journey of grief, healing, and reclamation. She creates a “Guide to My Husband: A User’s Manual” for Maggie (the other woman), hoping to ease the process of discovering her ex-husband’s whims and quirks. She turns her children’s bedtime stories into retellings of Chinese folklore passed down by her own mother, in an attempt to make them fall in love with their shared culture — and to maybe save herself in the process.

Three Shattered Souls

The Blades were never supposed to survive this long. But after the battle in Quu Harbor, escaping is no longer enough. The most dangerous liars in the four realms have one last mission — return to Yusan and finish what they started. With three relics of the Dragon Lord in their possession, the Blades will face the might of the four realms. Enemies will become allies. Allies will become traitors. And the ones they love most? They’ll be the ones to break them. Grief will carve the Blades into something ruthless and unrecognizable. But only by losing everything can they win this game of kings and crowns.
