Get Ready for the Holidays!

As we get ready for the holiday season, Macedon Public Library has multiple events planned to help make it easier and more fun for you and your family. Following are just a few of the activities you may want to consider attending to help you get in the holiday spirit.

Turkey Place Setting Card

• Friday, November 15, 1-2 pm, or
• Monday, November 18, 4-5 pm

Make this cute name card to let everyone know where to sit on Thanksgiving. All supplies and directions will be given, or you can take home a Take & Make Kit to create it when you have time (you’ll need to add your own scrapbooking paper and other materials). Desserts Recipe Exchange

• Saturday, November 16, 11-12 noon

Do you have a favorite dessert recipe to share? Are you looking for tasty new ideas for your next holiday party? This is an open gathering to share recipes. If you wish, you can bring a sample of your dessert, but it’s not required. Just bring your recipe, and we’ll make copies for all attendees. This event is FREE and open to the public. Make a Holiday Wreath

• Tuesday, November 19, 6-8 pm

Make this beautiful wreath on a straw form, using fabric squares and holiday-themed embellishments. This event is FREE, but participation is limited to seven people. Click here to register.

Pie Palooza

• Saturday, November 23, 2-3 pm

This fundraiser works like a cake-walk. Live music is played, and when it stops, a number will be drawn. If you are standing on the number, you can pick a pie from the pie table. There are four 15-minute sessions, and 18 pie winners each quarter hour! Sessions are limited to 50 people, so you’ve got a good chance of winning a pie. Each quarter hour costs $5, and benefits literacy Volunteers of Wayne County and friends of the MPL. Tickets are available at the circulation desk.

Jingle and Mingle Shopping Event

• Thursday, December 5, 4-7 pm

Do your holiday shopping at The Purple Painted Lady at 2620 Route 31, Palmyra on December 5 and 10 percent of every sale will be donated to the Friends of the Macedon Public Library. This group supports the library and all its events. Light snacks and drinks will be provided. Get some Christmas shopping done will supporting your library!
