In the Event of Murder
Bookseller and literary event planner Emma Starrs is looking forward to attending the annual Silvercrest Library Gala, a glamorous evening with celebrities including the legendary Whitney Willton, and her niece, party-planner-to-the-stars Lyra Willton. Gala Week is full of exciting activities honoring both page and screen, and library board president Tabitha Baxter is basking in the glow of her successful launch—until Lyra is found dead. With the gala only days away, the board asks Emma for help, despite Tabitha—her longstanding nemesis–bristling over the choice.

One Last Chance
Axel Mulligan was built to be a Coast Guard rescue swimmer. He swam fast and endured long, a miracle for those in peril—until a tragedy sent him home to Alaska. Now, three years later, he’s not going to let the past repeat itself. As an Air One rescue swimmer, he ll do anything to save lives. He expects to do just that while trying to rescue a group of tourists from the icy waters of the Gulf of Alaska. But if not for the voice on the other end of the ham radio, he might have given up and let hypothermia win. That voice awakened something in his heart, and he sets out to find the woman it belongs to.

Waste of a Life
Decluttering expert Ellen Curtis is back in Waste of a Life, where she tackles a hoarding case that takes a deadly turn. When a recluse’s house is found cluttered with not just junk but evidence of foul play, Ellen finds herself drawn into a complex investigation. As she sifts through years of accumulated secrets, she uncovers hidden motives and long-buried grudges. Simon Brett’s witty and engaging mystery explores the darker side of human nature, offering a satisfying blend of humor and suspense.
