New Adult Fiction: Tuesday, April 30

It’s raining out again (typical spring weather in Rochester!) and that means one thing: it’s time to find a good book and grab a cup of coffee or tea for a nice reading session on the couch. Stop by the library and check out a book, CD, movie, or other material that you find interesting. We will continue to offer “Grab and Go” services for those who prefer to place their books on hold online and then pick them up in the cabinet inside the library.

Here are a few of the new books that have arrived at the library recently. We invite you to check them out!

Extinction

Erebus Resort, occupying a magnificent valley deep in the Colorado Rockies, offers guests views of woolly mammoths, Irish Elk, and giant ground sloths in their native habitat, brought back through the magic of genetic manipulation. When a billionaire’s son and his wife are kidnapped and murdered in the Erebus back country, Colorado Bureau of Investigation Agent Frances Cash partners with county sheriff James Colcord to track down the perpetrators. As killings mount and the valley is evacuated, Cash and Colcord must confront an ancient, intelligent, and malevolent presence at Erebus, bent not on resurrection―but extinction.

The Angry Land

The completion of a new railroad line from Colorado to Texas is a dream come true for Smoke Jensen. But this dream turns into a nightmare when the first herd they load is stolen by a gang of rustlers. Now Smoke is riding out—to get the prairie rats who murdered his friend. Smoke isn’t the only one who’s after these killers. A pair of undercover lawmen have managed to infiltrate the gang. While Smoke is trying to track down the stolen herd, they pretend to plot with the gang to rob more cattle trains. But there’s a hitch: to make sure they’re really on board, the gang wants them to prove their loyalty—by eliminating their biggest threat: Smoke Jensen.
