Point and Insurance Reduction Program

Monday and Tuesday, January 8 & 9

5:00-8:00 p.m.

Do you have a few points on your license you’d like to get rid of? Would you be happy to save some money on your car insurance? If you answered “yes” to either of these questions, you may want to take our Point and Insurance Reduction Program (PIRP). Here’s what you need to know:

Instructor John Sargent will lead the sessions, which are approved by the Department of Motor Vehicles. The program has met strict standards for the safe driving information presented and program effectiveness.

Those who participate will:

  • Refresh their driving knowledge with a review of time-tested safe driving tips and an overview of today’s vehicle and traffic laws.
  • Possibly be eligible to reduce as many as 4 points on their driving record. The DMV computer will automatically note a participant’s eligibility to receive the reduction.
  • Receive a minimum 10% reduction in the base rate of their automobile and motorcycle liability and collision insurance premiums each year for three years.

The course will take six hours to complete. It will be split into two three hour sessions. There is a $25 fee to take the course payable the day of the course.

This course may be repeated every 36 months to maintain insurance reduction benefits. This course is not the course candidates must take to be eligible to take the NYS licensing examination. This course is aimed at adults who already possess a NYS license and are interested in becoming safer drivers with a lowered insurance rate.

This class will be canceled if fewer than 8 people register. A maximum of 35 participants will be permitted to attend the class. Registration is required. Register by clicking HERE.
