Deep as the Sky, Red as the Sea

When Shek Yeung sees a Portuguese sailor slay her husband, a feared pirate, she knows she must act swiftly. Instead of mourning, Shek Yeung launches a new plan: immediately marrying her husband’s second-in-command, and agreeing to bear him a son in order to retain power over her half of the fleet. But as Shek Yeung vies for control over the army she was born to lead, larger threats loom. The Chinese Emperor has charged a brutal, crafty nobleman with ridding the South China Seas of pirates, and the Europeans—tired of losing ships, men, and money—have new plans for the area.

Unnatural Ends

Sir Lawrence Linwood is dead. More accurately, he was murdered. The murder calls home his three adopted children: Alan, an archaeologist; Roger, an engineer; and Caroline, a journalist. But his heirs soon find that his last testament contains a strange proviso—that his estate shall go to the heir who solves his murder. To secure their future, each Linwood heir must dig into the past. As their suspicions mount—of each other and of peculiar strangers in the churchless town of Linwood Hollow—they come to suspect that the killer lurks in the mysterious origins of their own births.

Witch King

Kai’s having a long day. After being murdered, his consciousness dormant and unaware of the passing of time while confined in an elaborate water trap, Kai wakes to find a lesser mage attempting to harness Kai’s magic to his own advantage. But why was Kai imprisoned in the first place? What has changed in the world since his assassination? And why does the Rising World Coalition appear to be growing in influence? Kai will need to pull his allies close and draw on all his pain magic if he is to answer even the least of these questions. He’s not going to like the answers.
