Are you looking for a new experience for your small children during these grey days of winter? Check out the Library’s new iVOX books. If you have an account with the Library and can access a computer, tablet, or smartphone, you can help your child experience this small but intriguing selection of books.
What’s different about the books? Well, for one thing, when you open up a book, a pleasant voice reads the words to your child. But there’s more: each page expands into a moving picture that follows along with the reading, enacting the story before your eyes.
In Jet the Cat Is Not a Cat, for example, the story follows Jet as she learns to swim and has other adventures that lead her to a new understanding of what it means to be a cat. The moving images are bright and colorful and designed to engage and delight your youngsters.
iVOX books are appropriate for children ages 2-10. The iVOX app can be downloaded from the App Store for Apple devices or Google Play for Android. To get started, though, all you need to do is click on the link on the Library’s home page and soon you and your child can be reading along with these fun and informative books.
