Programs at Parkwood

Memory Lane: Thurs. 3/10: 2 pm.

Anyone dealing with memory challenges is welcome to join this group. Participants reminisce about days of yore while engaging in an activity that promotes nostalgia. The group meets at Parkwood Heights Independent Living Center. Caregivers of those with Alzheimer’s Disease may wish to attend the Alzheimer’s Association educational presentation while their loved one participates in the Memory Lane group.

 

Alzheimer’s Education: Thurs. 3/10: 2 pm.

Caregivers and others with a family member or friend with Alzheimer’s Disease can attend this session to receive trustworthy information. This month the topic will be “Driving and Dementia” Explore how the disease can affect a person’s ability to drive, their senses and their reaction times. Learn about local resources for driver evaluations and strategies for talking about when to stop driving.

Both programs will be held at Parkwood Heights Independent Living Center.
